Under this policy, travelers may qualify for discounts or waivers on Farehutz.ca Service Fees for cancellations, refunds, or ticket changes.

Please note: The CEP applies only to Farehutz.ca Service Fees . Customers remain responsible for airline or travel supplier charges, fare differences, and any third-party fees.

Definition of Immediate Family

For the purpose of CEP, “immediate family” includes:

  • Spouse or domestic partner
  • Children, parents, siblings
  • Grandparents, grandchildren
  • Aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews

This applies to biological, along with adoptive, step, foster, in-law, or legal guardianship relationships.

  • CEP discounts apply only to Farehutz.ca Service Fees.
  • Customers remain responsible for:
    • Airline-imposed cancellation along with change or refund fees
    • Fare differences (if applicable)
    • Third-party supplier charges (hotels or car rentals)

Frequently Asked Questions (CEP)

Does CEP ensure a refund or free cancellation?
No. CEP only applies to Farehutz.ca Service Fees. The Airline and supplier fees are determined by their own rules and cannot be waived by us.

How to know if I qualify?
You may qualify if you fall under one of the listed categories and provide the required documentation. Each request is reviewed individually.

What documents are required?

  • Military: Military ID or valid military email address
  • Bereavement: Funeral director’s letter or obituary notice
  • Visual Impairment: Statement that you are unable to use the website independently
  • Youth: Government issued ID showing date of birth

What is the processing time?

  • Requests are acknowledged within 2 business days.
  • Final confirmation usually takes 7 to 10 business days. It is completely dependent on airline response times.

Can I apply after my trip is completed?
No. CEP must be requested before or during booking/ticketing. It cannot be applied retroactively.

Does CEP apply to all bookings?
CEP applies to airline tickets booked via Farehutz.ca. Hotels, cars, or vacation packages follow supplier rules.

Can one request cover multiple family members?
If multiple immediate family members are affected, one request with documentation may apply to all passengers on the same booking.

What if the airline denies my request?
If the airline denies a refund or change, Farehutz.ca will still honor CEP benefits for our Service Fees. However, the airline’s decision is final regarding their own charges.
